Miller Theater

Restoring a landmark theater for symphonic performance and touring productions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Restoring a Historic Stage

Originally constructed in 1938, the Miller Theater reopened in January 2018 following a $23 million renovation. The renewed venue became a home for the Augusta Symphony Orchestra while accommodating touring music and entertainment productions.

Kyle Smith served as principal theater consultant and project manager, working with the architectural team through programming, planning, design, and documentation. The project expanded the stagehouse depth and widened the proscenium opening to accommodate more than 100 musicians onstage.
