Founded in 2001, Kyle Smith & Associates provides theater, AV/sound, and acoustical consulting for architects and project owners. We bring practical theater knowledge into the design process, helping create spaces that serve performers, production teams, and audiences.



Based in Flowery Branch, Georgia, near Atlanta, the firm collaborates on performing arts projects throughout the United States.

Kyle brings more than 30 years of theater consulting experience, shaped by a career spanning engineering, theatrical equipment design, and live production.



His early work included designing stage rigging, drapery, and specialized stage equipment for performing arts facilities and film studios. He also gained hands-on experience in stage carpentry, production stage management, and technical work for experimental theater and dance.


As a traditional musician, Kyle understands performance from an artistic perspective as well. This combination of engineering, production, and personal performance experience informs his approach to working with architects and owners.
